Kamala Harris Chooses Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz as Running Mate

Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota has been selected by President Kamala Harris as her running mate, raising the former teacher and Army National Guard veteran to be part of the Democratic ticket and assist in guiding the party's efforts to defeat Donald Trump.

Walz was chosen after a swift vice presidential search process, which was the fastest in modern history. The shortlist for the position also featured several other Democrats, such as Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly. The vice president conducted face-to-face interviews with Walz, Shapiro, and Kelly on Sunday.
