Can Trump Still Run for President as a Convicted Felon?

Updated: Jun 5, 2024

Apparently he can. In an article from Politico as a candidate for a federal office, Trump is only restricted by the requirements in the United States Constitution which are that the president must be at least 35 years old, a natural-born U.S. citizen and must have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years. There’s nothing in the Constitution in regards to criminal convictions. And why would there be because our forefathers never could have conceived of a time where we as a nation could ever be in situation where that would even be a possibility.
